Community Work
We believe that making art with a community also means making things with your hands.
Cleaning a room, repairing a wall, preparing food, setting up chairs, carrying tables, making a space ready for people to gather. These acts may seem separate from artistic practice, but they are often where relationships begin.
In Poliçan, for example, we worked together with people from the village to clean and reclaim the old school, transforming a neglected building into a space for an exhibition and a three-day festival. We cleaned, painted, carried, built and installed together. The work of preparing the space became part of the project itself.
Community work for us is about reciprocity. We do not want to simply enter a place, make something and leave.
We want to contribute, to learn, to share responsibility and to leave something behind — whether that is a restored space, a new gathering place, a shared memory or simply the feeling that something happened there together.
We are interested in what can grow when artistic practice becomes part of the life of a place, rather than something brought into it from the outside.
