PERASMA is a women-led collective working across art, cultural heritage and community-building.
We are interested in places shaped by movement, borders and memory, and in the stories that remain there.
We work through photography, exhibitions, workshops, gatherings and collective actions, often in collaboration with local communities. For us, art is an act of caring for a place, of bringing people together and of making space for stories that might otherwise disappear.
Since the summer of 2024, our work has been moving between Greece and Albania, following personal and collective histories of migration, belonging and return.
We are especially drawn to border regions and rural communities, places of passage (perasma, from the Greek πέρασμα) where questions of identity and belonging are often lived in very everyday ways.
PERASMA means passage. It is about crossing from one place to another, but also about everything that happens in between: what we carry with us, what we leave behind, and what we pass on.
